James Flannery of Tappan is charged with fourth degree criminal mischief (misdemeanor), resisting arrest (misdemeanor), and disorderly conduct (violation) after police responded to a domestic dispute in the hamlet, according to police.

Flannery allegedly used a hammer to break a door leading into a female's apartment, police said.

When an attempt was made to arrest Flannery, he allegedly began fighting with police and it took several officers to subdue him. He was subsequently transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

Flannery is due back in justice court at the end of the month to answer the charges.
